Congratulations to Ms. Thomasson and the 3rd and 4th-grade students for putting on such an enjoyable and successful performance. The Dance Residency program incorporates our reading curriculum with physical activity and musical interpretation. Our students build self-confidence, TEAMWORK, and self-expression through a theatrical performance.
In addition, we use this program as a means to build our Character Education Program through the use of texts that focus on diversity and understanding character differences.
Our Dance Residency Program has been at Forrest School for the past 23 years led by Ms. Susan
Thomasson. Susan is a professional dancer and Choreographer and has been performing and
teaching dance for over 40 years through the Lincoln Center and the NYC Department of Education.
